(More customer reviews)I have long been skeptical of "deep frying" at home.The smell, the mess, the smell...Anyway, I recently decided to throw a fish fry and decided it was time to invest in a fryer.The biggest issue for me in purchasing a fryer was the sturdiness of the burner stand.Besides having the ability to heat 12 quarts of oil, I also wanted a burner stand that would hold the weight of 20 quarts of beer for my homebrewing.I decided on the Bayou Classic.

This Bayou Classic kit came with everything and setup was simple.The burner stand exceeded my expectations for sturdiness and the height was such that when using the 10 quart stock pot, you could place the burner stand on a safe sturdy work surface to elevate it off the ground.I plan on also using this burner with my wok.The burner was able to bring the oil to temperature in approximately 15 minutes.The Fish and Chips turned out great.

Of course when using 350 degree boiling oil, you do not want your weekend fry festival to end with either a trip to your local burn unit or a reason to see if Allstate really has you in good hands.Common sense must prevail and last time I checked, Amazon does not sell that yet.Set your fry area up away from kids, pets and anything that you want to see another day.If you follow that simple advice, all should turn out okay.

Clean up can be best described as "sticky", but in order to get the life out of your aluminum parts, don't skimp.Now that I have tackled fish and chips, I will have to move on to the other "must have" fried foods these days: turkeys, chickens, and Twinkies.I can't wait.

(More customer reviews)Currently attached to a half empty tank and main guage seems to work.Since my tank is housed in a grill cabinet, it wasn't easy to lift the tank prior to usuage to make sure I have enoung gas for BBQ.Now, no worries as before cooking.The electornic guage came with it didn't work though.It indicated a full tank when main guage showed half full.Basic unit is $10 less so get a basic unit instead of this one.

(More customer reviews)I bought the Skytech 3301 remote transmitter and receiver box to replace my Avanti (model AHP304R2T) which had stopped working.The Skytech has pretty much the same features, which I was happy about, but I've been disappointed in the transmitter.The transmitter works fine, but the batteries keep falling out.They are held in by a small plastic plate.The plate has two tabs at one end and another at the other end.The top tab just isn't strong enough to keep the plate in place.The other thing I don't like about the Skytech is the display.My Avanti was easy to read.It had bold block letters on an almost white screen.The Skytech letters are as big, but not as bold and they are displayed against a dark gray screen.

The shipping was very over-priced at $7 but I was having a hard time finding them online and just bought them because they were for my Grandmother who is home bound. To be fair, in the description box it does say that the certain numbers are square but I didn't feel the need to read the description since this isn't rocket science. I figured the picture which clearly says "Round Aluminum Burner Bibs" would suffice. I have never seen someone take a picture of the wrong product and slap it on and say "That will do, I hope they read the description" with it being so hard to take pictures these days with digital cameras being a rarity. In addition, this seller does not even sell round burner bibs.

Kudos - months later and it shows Square Burner Bibs in the picture instead of the round ones I received.

Coleman Exponent Dual Fuel Lantern Review

(More customer reviews)I think that a 75 watt equivalency is about right. In my experience, though, the normal 2 mantle Colemans in comparison are only about 100 watts.This lantern, cmopared to other Coleman white gas lanterns, is more compact, light, and very sturdy.

The only problems, compared to a regular Coleman gas lantern, is that the gas tank is smaller, so you have to pump to maintain pressure more often.Also, because of the small gas tank, you have to refill more often, it usually lasts about 3 hours.I heard other people carry extra gas in an aluminum water bottle.It is a single mantle, and uses a different mantle than the usual 2 mantle lanterns sold by Coleman.

All in all, a good product.Sometimes when I get bored, I'll light it up on my balcony and the "hsssss" of the generator and the smell of the gas burning will bring back memories of camping.

Sigh.

We use these stoves to cook breakfast before riding off on ATV's.So we are not setting around camp after having breakfast.We need to clean up the dishes, fold camp back up and put it away in the Pick-up Bed with a fiberglass cover and hit the trail.With the griddle going cooking bacon and also another skillet going we needed a place to have a coffee pot cooking.And also needed to be heating water to do dishes quickly. After the bacon is cooked we have one burner heating hash brown patties and the other doing scrambled eggs with chili at the last, so the 2 burner camp chef is busy. Eggs are coordinated to be ready when the Dutch Oven biscuits are done.Why screw this gourmet breakfast up with a flimsy throw away plastic fork. This one burner stove also works with the BBQ grill and Griddle for the Camp Chef products if needed.It fits nicely in the box it came in for storage.I trashed the carry case for the two burner Camp Chef.The hardest part of breaking up camp was putting that two burner stove back in the carrying case.The zipper broke after two uses anyway. It looks cool but life is better without the frustration of trying to put it back in the case. The One Burner Camp Chef takes the pressure off doing it all quickly on just 2 burners. These two stoves with a 5# and a 10# butane tank is cool.Lots of convenient firepower that is easy to set up and put away.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this product and am not that impressed. It is really just a pressure guage with some colored zones on it. It doesnt give you the greatest indication of the amount of fuel left in the tank. It does work, and as the needle indicates lower, obviously the tank contains less LP but it isnt that accurate. With the tank valve shut, the pressure will go up and indicate "GREEN," making you think that you have a lot of fuel. But when you turn on the grill and the pressure drops it indicates "RED" and you could run out of fuel before you cook your food.

Use this gauge as a general indication of tank level only, dont expect the greatest results. Take the $20 that you would spend on this device and apply it towards purchasing a second propane tank. That way if one tank runs out you have another to replace it with while you go and exchange the empty. You'll always have propane!

(More customer reviews)This is a good lightweight stove. I use it with the white gas. I wouldn't recommend unleaded gas except for emergencies. It's dirty and you really don't want to cook with and handle it if you don't have to. Plus Coleman's white gas is very cheap at camping stores.
I had this out and burning all night recently when I had a party. I put it in the middle of a large round table outside and got some cocktail franks, marshmellows, and shish kabob sticks for a mini cookout. It was the hit of the party and burned all night without a problem (except refilling). Easy to start and maintain (though it will get a bit dirty after using it a while). I recommend this and one or two extra bottles for fuel. It's a good size for one or two people camping.

Low Pressure Gas Burner & Stove 1 Burner Review

(More customer reviews)I brought this little burner trying to use it for slow burner using NG. I unscrewed the whole valve brass part out, and drilled with a really fine drill to make the hole little bigger to let me NG pass through.

However, to use with NG, I should add a metal plate to block some of the air intake from side of the brass valve, since NG is different from propane that could expand more in volume.Without block the air intake from the side, the fire could come back to the valve when you have the valve set very low.

In general, this is good buner. I am sure it will work great for propane.
